This is a post written for Native Digital documenting an internal project that we wished to share.

At Native Digital, we build many campaigns for our clients with one of the main goals to increase the client's "Like Count" on Facebook. The more people that engage with a brand by "liking" it, the larger our client's audience for updates and marketing stories pushed through this social platform. 

As it is Native's responsibility to prove we are boosting the engagement numbers for our clients, we wanted a fun way to show this off to our client.

The Rekorderlig Gigaphoto app was a unique technical challenge for our team. A high resolution photo such as the image featured on this campaign requires careful planning for delivery to the many competition players.

This afternoon I finally got a hold of the Freetronics EtherTen board. I've been fascinated by Arduino for a while now, initially finding an application for one in a PC case-mod project I'll detail later. I often struggle to think of a good application for such electronics after getting excited by all the features available. Loving the idea of networking every device, big or small, an Arduino with built in ethernet gives me some great ideas.

I spent some time this evening testing a few features of the EtherTen and getting to grips with its supported libraries, the possibilities and the limitations.

There are many frustrating ways of writing and testing web designs. When updating my site to use WordPress as a familiar CMS rather than editing my HTML directly (which has its charm) I decided to try something I'd heard a lot about but didn't understand: sub-versioning.

I haven't ironed out all the issues or even full understand what I'm doing yet, but I can see the power of such a system and why it's so popular with development teams.

After playing around with the unofficial API, and essentially ending up disappointed I was very happy to discover a couple of months ago that Instagram had released an official and documented API.

Having only recently and vaguely worked out how to perform OAuth handshaking I'm going to share my experience in performing API calls in a real-world, albeit silly scenario.
